After all the excitement of last week's Birthday Bash, this week is going to seem somewhat quieter.  I must confess to not having painted much this week, apart from starting a long overdue toybox project for a good friend of mine, pics to follow on that one!  I haven't been resting on my laurels however, as I have been a busy busy bee spring-cleaning my studio!  Now, as I'm sure you can imagine, cleaning is not something I would normally choose to do in my studio, there's far too much temptation to get messy with paint!  Sadly, it had started to take up too much of my creative energy ... I couldn't find things ... I got stuck on projects ... I couldn't make decisions ... and all the time I had loads of half-started, half-a**ed projects sneering at me!  Enough is enough!  I still have some sorting out of old materials and unwanted painting books/magazines to go through but I'm feeling more refreshed and getting my creative buzz back!  Woohoo!

So, my desk shows signs of the clear-out, and it's also in a new position with a window in front and also the side (useful for spotting the postman ha ha).  The Percy Pigs are back from their half-term hols and survived the clear-out... phew!

Well, that's me for now, although I'm very late with this post but at least it is still Wednesday (in the UK anyway...).  To find out more about this desk-hopping lark, visit Julia at The Stamping Ground.

Happy Woyww

  1. I'm with you on the clean up. Sometimes things just need to be messy!

  2. I don't like clearing up (and that includes housework), but sometimes I find that cleaning up my work space can prove to be quite inspiring. I find supplies I forgot I had and once everything is nice and tidy, I just want to sit down, create and mess it all up again.

  3. Ah, well done, Liz! You are right, there is nothing like a good clear out to refresh the creative spirit! You really did it up big with moving your desk, too! I hope you have a wonderful productive week! xxoo Darnell (I'm just visiting this week, so no no.)

    1. Hi Darnell, As you have no no. I thought I'd add a quick 'thank-you for your visit' message here! You're right I am already feeling much more productive ... long may it last!! Lx

  4. Cleaning? OHMY... the weather is way too nice to clean, but I guess you tidied up just before Summer set in. At least I hope you have the same Summer weather in the UK as we have on the other side of the North sea! Happy ~ belated ~ woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #70

  5. So, now you have done your clearing - take a deep breath, have a drink of something good - and relax into your artwork. Thanks for dropping by.

  6. Clearing, cleaning, reorganizing.... it always seems to look worse after you start and before you finish. LOL! At least you can take a break and check out a few desks! Happy belated WOYWW and thanks for visiting!

  7. I am cleaning out my craft room as well! It's still in the beginnings stages, even after a year, but I'm slowly figuring out where I want/need things to be. I'm glad you found time to clean your space as well. Doesn't it feel great?
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
